Ski with the locals, where the locals ski. . . Engelberg!
Engelberg is truly a wonderful winter village equipped for the real skier with the longest descent (12 kilometers) in the Alps!
The village is nestled in the mountains within walking distance of the cable cars and restaurants in town. Take the cable car to the top of the Titlis at 10,000 feet and experience a glacier tour through the mountain. See if you can ski this mountain without stopping!
In winter Engelberg enchants visitors with its white winter wonderland. The long winter begins as early as October and lasts until mid-May. The most exciting snow sports paradise of Central Switzerland can be enjoyed, for example, on a fast descent on one of the ski pistes, which extend for 82 kilometers. Fun-filled sledding parties, 30 kilometers of cross-country tracks, and 14 winter hiking trails round out the comprehensive range of offerings.Β
Ride the Titlis and Rotair Gondolas to the highest glacier destination. From the top, you can see the largest ski and snowboard paradise in Central Switzerland, accessible by a rotating cable car. The view is spectacular! Take the time to walk into the glacier caves which is a magnificent experience.
Visit the Four-lakes with magnificent mirror-smooth views on Lake TrΓΌb to deep blue Lake Engstlen, then onto the turquoise waters of Lake Tannen all the way to picturesque Lake Melch. This tour is a good experience for all ages and is open year-round.
