Western Caribbean Bay Islands Adventure

The Bay Islands consist of eight islands and 53 small cays situated off the northern coast of Honduras just east of Belize in the Caribbean Sea.

The group of islands is made up of three main islands; Utila, Roatan, and Guanaja. Roatán is the main airport hub for the entire area serviced by United and Delta as well as other international carriers.

Guanaja is the second largest island of the three and is known for its untouched mountainous and geological features. Guanaja Island is roughly divided into three sections divided by hilltops, the highest peak which rises to over 350 m above sea level. These hilltops contain granite, marble, and serpentine material.

Bonacca Town “The Cay”, is south of the mainland and the airport of Guanaja. Most of the locals (approximately 12,000 plus) live on the Cay, Guanaja, or Bay Islands. The island’s warm clear waters are surrounded by an extensive coral reef that is the main part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef; second only to the Great Barrier Reef off the coasts of Australia.

English and Spanish-speaking locals are welcoming tourists. Guanaja is incredibly diverse during the summer, with tourists arriving from all over the world. Transportation to the Private Island is provided by boat with your reservation. Various private islands, guesthouses, small hotels, and resort-style accommodations are available.
